Hey [firstname]!

While you can access the (fledgeling) metaverse from your smartphone, computer or laptop, you need some extra equipment to get the full experience. In today’s installment I want to tell you about some of the tech you’ll need. I’ve listed various options you can consider depending on your budget.

The first thing you’ll need is a virtual reality headset. According to Facebook/Meta the one to get is an Oculus headset, but then, they own the company, so they would say that! If you’re going to get one, then the best version is the Oculus Quest 2 — Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset — 256 GB. It’s not cheap, but comes very highly rated. [YOUR AMAZON.COM AFFILIATE LINK HERE] If your budget won’t stretch that far, you can get a Tzumi Dream Vision Virtual Reality Smartphone Headset that will convert your smartphone into a passable VR headset at a bargain basement price. For a full experience some tactile gloves can take your metaverse experience to the next level. A good pair are The VRfree® gloves by Sensoryx. They are made up of high-quality electronic components offering you the highest possible freedom of movement as well as high precision. They’re not cheap, but if you want the full metaverse experience, they’re worth having. Currently only available directly from the manufacturer at https://www.sensoryx.com/products/vrfree/ .

The only problem with your brain being in virtual reality and your body being in “real” reality is that you might accidentally trip over something, so a Sky win VR Mat Round - 35" Virtual Reality Matt will help you determine the direction and position of your feet during game play and will prevent you from hitting and breaking objects in your surroundings. Finally, you’ll need a super-fast internet connection. Exactly what speeds you can get depends on the area where you live, but cable internet or super fast fiber is preferable to regular copper wired broadband. If you’re lucky to live in an area that has 5g mobile coverage, that’s perfect, too.
